Triumph reasons to ride rocket 3 GT engine 2500cc

Engine

Long established as the biggest in the business, the evolution of the Rocket 3 Storm’s triple has seen it increase in capacity from 2,300cc to 2,458cc while its already record-breaking torque has been further increased for this latest iteration for an even bigger punch.

A nine per cent increase in peak power now delivers 182PS @ 7,000rpm, while the Rocket 3 Storm’s record-breaking torque figure climbs to a staggering 225NM @ 4,000rpm.

But there’s so much more to this extraordinary engine than just headline-grabbing numbers. The power delivery is responsive and manageable. Brutal yet refined.

Huge torque delivers explosive acceleration in the lower gears while also providing effortless thrust in any gear from anywhere in the rev-range. Aided by a smooth ride-by-wire controlled, fuel injection system, this makes for a motorcycle that delivers heart-stopping performance but with a flexible character that will happily adapt to suit the rider — pulling cleanly and endlessly when short-shifting from low in the revs or exploding through the gears at higher rpm, the flexibility of this engine sets it apart and reinforces its standing as something truly unique.
