Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing Sign Off 2025 Mx2 World Championship in Australia

MONSTER ENERGY TRIUMPH FACTORY RACING SIGN OFF 2025 MX2 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN AUSTRALIA
Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing’s Guillem Farres has placed sixth overall at the 20th and final round of the MX2 World Championship in Australia. The Spaniard charged to a strong third in the opening moto before finishing 10th in a rain-lashed race two. Camden McLellan completed the season with 13th overall.
For the first time since 2001, the FIM Motocross World Championship travelled to Australia. The new circuit, built inside the Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin, offered elevation, sizable jumps, and a flowing layout that led to some close racing.
Farres arrived in Australia focused on finishing his first season with the team on a positive note. Placing third in the qualifying race marked a strong start to the weekend. The TF 250-X rider then replicated this result in the first Grand Prix race after leading it for five laps.
Shortly after the gate dropped for moto two, heavy rain began to fall, which made the racing conditions treacherous. Farres battled valiantly to finish 10th to secure sixth overall on the day. With the season now complete, Guillem’s highlights include his race win and second overall in Germany, together with his four top-five finishes. Earlier in the year, the 22-year-old missed three rounds through injury, but despite this, he ended his first MX2 season ranked eighth in the final championship standings.
Enjoying a strong run of form ahead of the trip to Australia, McLellan was also eager to end the year on a high. Seventh in race one was a solid start to the Grand Prix, however the unpredictable conditions in the second moto led to a 15th-place finish.
Throughout the season, Camden picked up two overall podium results in the sand of Sardinia and Belgium, and a moto win on the hardpack of Italy to underline his ability. With the championship now complete, McLellan placed fifth in the final standings.
Both Guillem and Camden will now turn their attention to the upcoming Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations. Held in the USA, at Ironman Raceway, on October 4-5, Farres will represent Team Spain with McLellan racing for Team South Africa.
Guillem Farres
“That’s the last GP of the season done. The track here was really nice. Amazing dirt, a good layout, and some really fun jumps. I felt good all weekend on my bike, and led a few laps in moto one, so that was nice. I slipped back to third but it was still a strong result and a good start to the day. It was a shame about the rain in the second race. I was third for a little while, crashed, then finished 10th after the race was stopped early. So, I’m disappointed to just miss the podium today, but it’s been a great first year for me with Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing, and a solid foundation to build from for next season.”
Camden McLellan
“The season is done and it’s been a great year. With a race win in Italy, and a couple more podiums, it’s been strong. With the team we’ve learned a lot, and that will only help us in our preparation for next year. This weekend wasn’t the best and I just didn’t get the best of starts in any race, so it’s a shame to end the season like this. I managed to hang on to fifth in the championship, and that was my main goal coming in. The rain in race two was crazy, and it was one of those races where it either goes your way or it doesn’t. Unfortunately, it didn’t go my way, but now it’s onto the Nations in the USA.”
Vincent Bereni – Monster Energy Triumph Factory Racing Team Manager
“It’s been a really nice Grand Prix to end the year here in Australia. The country is beautiful and the venue and organisation have been great. We came here with two goals. The first one was to secure fifth in the championship with Camden, and we did exactly that. So, it’s been a great year for him, the team, and Triumph. The second goal was to finish third in the Manufacturers Classification, however, we came up just a little too short – seven points to be exact, which is not a lot over 20 rounds. It wasn’t for lack of effort on anyone’s part and overall, it’s been a strong season for us in what’s been just our second year in MX2”
