The 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing team has completed the ninth round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Unadilla, starting the sprint towards the series' final round, where Jordon Smith was the squad's top performer in the competitive 450MX division.

Smith was on track for a fourth consecutive appearance in the top 10, but two mistakes in moto two robbed him of the position. A respectable 11th in moto one set him up for a positive second moto. Quick to make passes, he tipped over early on and had to recover from 19th. How he responded was impressive; he pushed all of the way to the cusp of the top 10 once more before a final error dropped him outside of the points, where he was ranked 17th overall.

Mikkel Haarup endured a difficult day where he battled to capture the same form that has made him a consistent top seven runner. Hurt by subpar starts, he battled forward to finish 13th and 11th in the motos. However, it was in moto two where he did his best work; he steadily clawed his way to the top 10 and finished mere seconds from 10th. A 13-11 scorecard placed him 13th overall.

Deacon Denno, having missed two rounds with a broken collarbone, returned to action aboard his TF 250-X. It was a day that allowed him to rebuild a foundation and establish some momentum before the completion of the series. 30th after a crash in 250MX's first moto, he was marred by more issues in moto two and classified 36th.

Budds Creek in Mechanicsville, Maryland, awaits the Triumph trio now. The track will host the penultimate stop of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross Championship on 22 August.

Jordon Smith:

"It was a little bit of a rough day, especially with the results. We worked really hard in the off week to find a set-up that we like. I had good speed in the first moto, then went down early in the second moto. I came back and was close to the top 10 but crashed again. However, there are a lot of positives to take from today."

Mikkel Haarup:

"It was a tough day. The track was brutal. We kept fighting to the end and there were some good laps in there. We just need to put it all together, but I'm looking forward to some revenge at Budds Creek."

Deacon Denno:

"Today was definitely a tough one for me. It was not the result I expected from myself. Sometimes you have days like this in racing – all you can do is learn from them and move forward. I know what I'm capable of and I have a great team behind me. We'll put this one behind us, get back to work this week and come into the next round ready to fight."

Jeremy Coker – General Manager, Triumph Racing America:

"Unadilla was a tough weekend for us, and there's no point trying to dress it up as anything different. Weekends like this can be extremely valuable if you respond to them in the right way. We saw speed from our riders, but we didn't execute well enough when it mattered. That gives us areas we can identify, work on and improve. This isn't a weekend that is going to beat us down – it will motivate us. We have a talented group of riders and an incredible team of people behind them. Our responsibility now is to learn from what happened, support our riders and come back better. One race weekend doesn't define this team. How we respond to it does. The team will now regroup, put Unadilla behind us, turn our attention to Budds Creek with 100% determination and show what we’re capable of."
